Call for papers
Invitation
Inspired by the great success of the 7th International Conference on Silicate Materials (Kaunas, Lithuania in 2016) and by the enthusiasm of the participants at BaltSilica conferences in previous decade, the organizing committee of BaltSilica 2018 would like to cordially invite researchers, technologists and industry managers with an interest in silicate, aluminium silicate and calcium silicate building materials and inorganic nanomaterials, to participate in the BaltSilica 2018 conference that will be held in Riga, Latvia from 30th May to 1st June 2018.
To share ideas, to present latest research results, to sum up achievements in the development of inorganic materials, and to strengthen and find new cooperation fields BaltSilica 2018 will include: plenary lectures, short communications and posters sessions.
The conference is organized by Riga Technical University (Latvia), Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland).
Conference Topics
T1. Natural and Artificial Stone Materials – Inorganic binders (gypsum, lime, Portland cement), concrete, corrosion and restoration of natural and artificial stone.
T2. Traditional and Advanced Ceramic and Glass-Like Materials – porous oxide and clay ceramic materials, glass and glass fibre, enamels and glazes, advanced ceramic and glass materials.
T3. Inorganic and Hybrid Nanomaterials – nanoparticles, thin films, nanocomposites, mesoporous, electronic and photonic materials, methods of synthesis and characterization, application of nanomaterials for health and environmental protection, environmental remediation, emerging nanotechnologies.
T4. Physical and Numerical Processing Simulation of Inorganic Materials – simulations in material physics, simulation of condensed matter and for product design and testing.
Other related topics could also be included in the final Program of the Conference.
Submission of Abstracts and Full Papers
The abstracts (200-250 words followed by 3 key words) should be submitted in A4 size format, one page with Times New Roman font 12 pt. Abstracts should provide a good overview of your full paper and cover the following headings: Introduction; Objectives; Methods; Results; Conclusions.
Abstracts of papers will be published on the Conference website. Please submit the abstract as attachment in MS Word format to the E-mail of Conference.
The submitted papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published in the special edition of the journal “Key Engineering Materials”. Papers of the Conference will be included in SCOPUS, ISI Web of Science, EBSCO, ProQuest and other databases. Language of paper – English, length of paper is 6 pages. The guidelines are available on the website.
The official language of the Conference is English.

Social event will be held in Jaunmoku Palace in Tukums district.
